Stories about a journey to Memorial Park
This is our first attempt at narrative writing. The stories are based on some story guidelines given to us by Tommy Kapai the writer. He wanted the children to select an important character, a pet, a mode of transport, an exciting problem, some favourite kai and go on a journey to Memorial park to place our touchstones. The stories are a bit rushed because of lack of time but they are a start on our writing journey. I am sure we will see some great stories this year. This blog helps us to see how we have progressed with our writing.
Journey to Memorial Park
One day I was at bay wave with my Dad and we went on the slide. I hurt my head. It was a nice sunny day and then we went to the Memorial park to place my touchstone but some one was blocking the road so we couldn’t get to the Memorial park. Soon the person blocking the road went away because he was hungry. We drove to the Memorial park. I played on the big swing.

Journey to Memorial Park
One day I was at Macdonalds and Rhino my pet dog saw a robber. I saw the robber to. Then I drove away. Rhino has a fluffy body and a fluffy tail. Rhino stuck his head out the window. He stuck his tongue out. The tyre blew out then the car come to a stop. We were really far
away from home. I had to stay at the Memorial park to get clean in the water fountain. I slept under the tree. When it was the morning I
played on the swings. I went down the slide and went super fast.

Journey to Memorial Park
One day I was playing my Xbox 360 and the power went out. I went to check the power cables too see if they were unplugged but they weren’t. So we called the power men. They came to check the power plugs and they found out there was an ant’s nest. They came back the next day to see if they were any more ant’s but they were gone. After we went to Memorial Park with my dad for a swim. There were heaps of sharks swimming around. One was going to eat me but my dog Gesi scratched them then they went away. After this we went home and gave Gesi a gold medal.

Journey to Memorial Park
In the weekend I was playing bat down with my dad at Memorial Park. My dad made me a bat. The bat was brown. I hit the ball over the fence and it went on the road. The ball was rolling and I got it without going on the road. I was hitting the tennis ball far, so was my dad. I dodged the ball. The ball fell into the swimming pool and I saw my touchstone.

Journey to Memorial Park
I was at Bay wave and a big water monster rose up. My touch stone was in it’s stomach. My dad threw a boogie board at him but the smell off the chlorine was so yucky it made him sick. The monster hopped out of the pool and started to climb up the hydro slide to eat the people. They were crying. We climbed on his back and he ran and ran and ran until we were at memorial park. He crashed into the bridge. But there was something in the water. It was the monsters brothers. One was Icky and another one had seaweed on his head. I jumped on the top of the slide and jumped on to the seaweed monster and took the seaweed off his head and he melted.
